SHIFT-LOCK NOT WORKING 200 1993

my shift-lock is not working---automatically/as was normal for the past 5 years. i AM able to shift from park using the 'over-ride' button on the shifter.
HOWEVER i NO LONGER hear a relay latching and unlatching when i apply pressure to the brake pedal. wes, brake lites are working.
i've L@@KED under shifter trim panel, at first glance i don't see a solenoid as 'briefly mentioned' in my BENTLEY.
EXACTLY where is this previously audible relay located---EITHER it or the soleniod are NON_FUNCTIONING.
is this solenoid EASILY accessable? if so, i'll use a meter to confirm proper/potential function. then go L@@KING for the the relay.
