Humm, you're probably right that it was just smooth holes at 12/6. It's been a while since I've messed with the ring.

The ring kit provided studs for the 3/9 positions. I think the hardware was grade 8 type stuff so stripping might be a risk.

If I can find my old kit (I think I put it someplace "safe" if you know how that goes...) I'll send it your way.
