Same Problem with ATE Calipers? 140-160

Could ATE calipers (like the ones on my 142) be misassembled in a similar fashion, and that wouldn't be readily apparent? I ask because the bleed screws on the outer halves of each the ATE calipers "point" toward the front of the car.
