Bad D-jet Behavior. 140-160

Gary,

That was my first suspicion because I had just replaced a chunk of fuel line between the tank and the pump and changed the main fuel filter and one I have in the line before the pump because I had to remove the in-tank strainer some years ago.

The fuel pump seems to be humming a little louder than before, but that may be just paranoia. Be that as it may, it is the original and I've been carrying a new one in my trunk for several years now, so, I may as well swap that in just to be on the safe side. I have a pressure gauge on the fuel rail, though, and it shows normal fuel pressure.

One thing though, I can see hesitation and eventual engine death from fuel starvation, but I didn't think that all that back firing (sounded like an artillery barrage) could be caused by that. But then, there's lot's of stuff that doesn't make sense to me, and it still happens. ;-)

Thanks for the input.

Bob S.
