Good suggestions by all.
I would add to the chore list that you pull the trigger points out of the distro and make sure they are good and dry. I had that problem with 72 140 d-jet before. Check the ignition points, rotor, and inside the cap for moisture while you're at it. Sometimes there might be a little carbon dust inside the cap that doesn't cause a problem until it gets some moisture on it - then it creates conductive "bridges" between the contacts, sometimes being very fine lines that hard to see. Just clean it out and dry it real well.
