Agreed.
I would really just like to make a longer bracket.
I like both of those ideas. I thought of doing those last night, but didn't know if they were bad ideas or if I still had a grinder. I just located my cheap grinder so I think I might give the slot idea a shot first. At least it won't be much different structurally. If I screw that up (good chance I will)...I can just grind off the rest of it. Especially since the alternator's not anything beautiful. If it works, I can just make a new spacer and I should be golden.
