My reverse lights didn't work because the printed copper circuit board in the taillight was corroded where it attaches to the wiring harness connector. I patched with a small piece of copper tape used for stained glass--maybe not ideal, but its working so far! If it quits working, I'll do as others have done and solder in wires or small pieces of copper to patch the damaged parts of the printed circuit.
