Faint engine clicking when accelerating 200 1993

A header leak under load seems most logical for my first thought too!

It would be hard to hear at idle.

Use a piece of garden hose held around the header with the other end to your ear.

Look for a white powder spray around joints to the head and down to other pipe connections. Use a mirror to look on the under sides.

The next thing it could be is a detonation ping. But the knock sensor, if used on this car, should take care of that. It would have to be a large load unless your basic timing so way far off. Rare!

Valve tappet clearance noise doesn't change under a load and go away at idle.

Got to snoop more and have better descriptions with a location.

Will wait with you,
Phil
