740 cooling anomaly

Thanks, I got it. So by that logic, the only explanation is that the engine itself was somehow maintaining "two pressure zones," which it should not do once it's cold and stable.

And that points to a head gasket problem? Assuming the thermostat was closed, which would be normal in a cold engine, the pressure was actually coming from the engine - through the lower hose up? And that shouldn't happen.

I'm getting a bad feeling here.
