Instrument lights 120-130 1967

Close, but no cigar. I really hate kneeling on the ground while twisting my upper torso 90 degrees to look up at the rear of the instrument panel. All I could find this afternoon were the 4 bulbs for the idiot lights. There appeared to be 2 bulb holders very close to the steering column, but I discounted them because they were so far away from the speedometer.

This evening, I decided to follow the wires. My back still aches! To my surprise, there is a rehostat in the light switch and it was turned all the way to the left (off). When I turned it to the right, I got a single light to light up the left hand side of the panel.
So I pulled the other bulb holder, tested the bulb which turned out to be good. I wire brushed the base of the bulb, put it back in and now it works nicely :) Brighter than the bulb on the left. There are only 2 bulbs for the instrument panel.

C.A. pulled the bulb for the alternator, probably because she has a voltmeter/ oil pressure gauge combo installed under the dash. Reverse puts the gauge in jepardy and is a little loose.

On a side note:

There is a green light installed on the steering column, with a switch. Could this possibly be for overdrive? I would ask C.A. but talking on the phone is quite difficult.

Also, I haven't driven it to test the rear brake effectiveness. But the E brake doesn't grab as well as I would like. Is the adjustment under the car or the star wheel in the drum?

Thanks,

Klaus
