Clunky steering 140-160 1972

I'd check the lower A arm/outer joints first. Play sometimes not so easy to notice as they are under tension from the springs. A pry bar would be useful.
With the front end safely supported and with the wheels on, try for play holding the wheel at 12 and 6 o'clock. Push/pull at the 6 position. Some wheel bearing play might be noticed but bad joints are usually obvious.
There will be other suggestions, one might be to check the bolts that mount the steering box to the side member. This hidden area can rust out.
I'm sure we'll get an update.
