fire! almost...... 1800 1964

Well, what all you dun is pretty much what I woulda dun.
I've gotten pretty hardboiled about fuel pumps. Either ol-time AC (glass bowl and trigger below)
or OEM Pierburg. Last time I had a fuel pressure regulator (NOT the el cheapo) I was downtown
for a haircut and when I got out, I jumped into the 122 (celery) wagon and started around
the corner and was about knocked down by gasoline smell. Parked and found the diaphragm
blown and gas gushing out of the regulator body. Fortunately the gas line was long enough
that I could just take the regulator out and hook direct to the front carb.
When I got home I put a gauge on the gas line and found it was 3.0 psi at any engine speed.
Haven't used a regulator since.
