Reverse shift with M41 Transmission 1800

if you pull your shifter boot off, you should see that the shift lever is held by 4 small bolts. There should be a reverse stop bar/plate that simply prevents the shifter from going that far over without the 'lift'.. that stop could be mis-adjusted, or bent, or just missing... but you'll be able to see when you get the shift boot off.. no need to remove the transmission as I recall.
