My 83 and my 90 & 91 240 models were stalling on hot days, but
after a short break they would start right up. Sometimes
they would drive fine for a while then re-stall. I checked
and the 83 & 91 had dead pre-pumps. I replaced them late
last summer and this summer will be the test. On the 91 I
just last month replace the Crank Position Sensor as a
precaution for the hot stalls. The 90 model has a Crank Position
Sensor waiting in the garage, soon to be installed. On the 83, the Hall Sensor
is what has to be replaced because the Crank Position Sensor
was only in the more recent models. I am hoping that the
in-tank pump fixed the hot stalls on that baby.
The parts guy at NAPA was having hot stalls on his motorbike.
He thinks that the problem is the Ethanol that is being put
into the gasoline.
