Rstarkie has a good point, especially if your shifter handle can be wobbled from side to side. This is normally caused by loose mounting bolts at the bottom of the shifter bucket. When that happens the shift lever can disengage from the neutral/park switch causing a no-start.

The neutral/park switch can also fail on its own.
