How to store used brakes components

I pulled a new Volvo master cylinder at the UPull&Save yesterday. I plan on flushing it while being held in a vise to insure all old fluid is evacuated.

What can a person do to insure some chance of this being in good shape when I might need to install it on one of my cars? I plan on plugging the openings as best I can and putting it in zip lock bag with as much air evacuated from the bag as possible.

Thanks,
Randy
