No start problem fixed. Was this the culprit?

Not the crank sensor Tony. Not the radio suppressor either.

I disconnected each with the same result. The engine cranked, but never started. Here's the interesting part: With each disconnected the engine cranked nice and smooth -- a continual rhythm.

When the problem first occurred, the engine would try to "catch" but never ran. Very different sound. Very different feeling. So I'm thinking it can't be an electrical problem. Back to fuel/air or vacuum.

Oh, I also ran a propane torch over every vacuum line I could find while the engine was warm and running. Still nothing.

BTW, I got the OBD working. I cleaned the probe with a wire brush. Nothing. Then I cleaned the contacts in each hole with a teeny-tiny bristle brush. Still nothing. Then I popped the cover off the button/LED. Scraped all the contacts and the OBD came back to life. There was only one error code stored and that was related to the time I disconnected the cable to the MAF.

At this point I'm going to figure my prayers were answered and the good Lord will keep this heap going until I can find another 940 I can use as back up.
