replace your flame trap. eeuroparts.com has them for cheap. air should be coming out of the hose that goes to the breather box. if your flame trap has build up, you should clean out all the hoses connected to it. check your IAC valve too; it might have some build up. get a can of fuel injection cleaner and soak them all. you probably want to remove the breather box and give that a good cleaning too (straightforward removal but kind of a knuckle buster). i would check the throttle body to make sure that's clean too. you might be able to reuse the gasket but if not they're cheap enough to replace.
