Dented fender - can it be saved? 140-160 1972

Bummer!

That said, of all fender dents I've seen, my inclination is that they don't get much easier to fix than that one. Easy access on both sides, and right along that top edge (read, sturdy area). And the fender lip appears not to have been touched.

A good body man could probably massage that out without the need for bondo. A hack like me could beat it out and/or pull it out, slap on a thin coat of filler, sand it down, prime and paint. In the course of a couple hours.

If you carry collision and comp, my guess is that the damage won't be enough to even make it worth the claim. Unless you've got a really good policy/agent, and near zero deductible...
