FUBAR 120-130 1967

I have no idea when the rod was cracked, all that was holding it on was the tension of the clutch fork. There was over an inch of adjustment left on the rod, the rod snapped about 1/2 inch forward of the adjustment nut.

Inspecting the rod, it was rusty across the entire break. Nice hard steel! Except for that one spot.

I am wondering if any other car maker uses a slave rod that is 5/4 X 5.5 inches long. These things just don't 'break'.

I guess it was just luck that Xena was in the garage and not on a road trip.
