What kinda carbs you got?

If you have HS6, you can pop the tops of the floats off. If there's no gas in there... well, you're done.

I'm going fuel filter.. or otherwise, some manner of fuel delivery problem.

Or it's like that '72 I had that I got home, but could never get to run and for no reason....
