I imagine all sunroofs in these cars mount and adjust pretty much the same way.
The front edge of my sunroof is BELOW the roof by about 3/16", but is correct from mid-way back, and across the back of the opening.
I removed the sunroof headliner rearward, and there are 8 Torx head screws retaining the panel to the track followers. Two on each front corner, and two mid-way back on each sides.

I assume the front two control the height of the closed sunroof?
Those front adjustments were all at their FULL UP LIMIT (sunroof as far up as it will go in the slotted screw-holes). I can possibly shave another 1/16" out with my Moto Tool and a small carbide burr, but that still isn't enough. I suppose I could drill-out the factory pop-rivets that secure the front brackets to the lid, insert 1/8" thick shims between the brackets and the lid, and re-rivet with longer rivets, as this would raise the lid 1/8" higher on the brackets, but this would be cheating.
The opening and lid are like-new, so it's not due to damage. Anyone know what's wrong (or more likely what I am doing or understanding incorrectly)?
The factory says the lid should be roughly flush when closed.
Are there bumpers or something on the tub frame that are suppose to lift it the last bit when it's closed? There are some fixtures on the cable cover that runs across the front of the sunroof opening. One (each side, pointing horizontally toward front of opening) has a Plastic cover on it), and one (each side, point up and aft at an upward 45 deg angle) is just painted steel (no evidence of having plastic). See photo below-
This photo is Rt side looking toward center of the car at the front of the sunroof opening showing tabs: http://screencast.com/t/iEixGKBfa9W
Do the tabs and eyelet DO something, or are they for a pop-up defector on certain models or something? My car has no pop-up wind deflector as I've seen on BMWs of the same vintage.
Thanks!
