About an hour ago I met with ODGuru on a completely different matter and I happened to ask him what this check valve was that Art mentioned. He described it's location.

Sure enough, the very small diameter vacuum tube had become disconnected. That is all that was wrong.

The reason this is embarrassing is, a couple of years ago the same thing happened. As soon as I discovered the defrost was not blowing I sort of intuitively went under the hood and spotted the problem immediately.

Today I didn't even remember it until talking to Duane.

THE QUESTION: does the small diamater tube go through the firewall or connect to something else at that point?

I have cut it back twice now because it was split and I fear it will happen again. I'm running out of length.

At least next time I will hopefully remember where to look.
