That's definitely a ferry ride then, otherwise it's about 2 1/2 to 3 hours by car. Not to mention driving thru Queens with the crazies.

My wholesaler lived in Patchogue, we grew up on the same street and I was friends with his younger brother so that's how I got access to the clams. It was such a great idea and so profitable (we made $600 on our first day, that's 1970 dollars) that he cut me out and put his brother in business. It ended badly for them. My friend was a drunk and one day he backed the clam truck into the side of a brand new Fleetwood that belonged to the owner of the bowling alley where we had the stand set up. Their last name was King, does that ring a bell?
