green DOT4 brake fluid

my dear sages of the legendary i roll- this is amazing . from 63 when i turned my first wrench on a 49 ford until the present the only brake fluids i have seen were clear or dirty brown(probably rust ). went to parts store today and bought some prestone dot 4 which was clear, put some in the master resevoir and the brake failure light went off. presumably it raised the low fluid float switch in the container. true this fluid specified a higher boiling point(500degrees) than the dot 3. so all is well on waltons mountain. only one question left- what is the significance of green colored fluid? thanks tons oldduke
