I've had this problem with some cars I help maintain and a couple of my own cars. As bad/better/worse than yours? IDK.
Clean/ replace the separator box so you know that's working. I've never figured out what makes the difference otherwise - perhaps tolerances of certain motors?
Oil and driving habits seem to make a difference. I run synthetic oil; frequent changes; and high-speed highway driving whenever possible. Occasional engine flush with kerosene into the intake; some additives to oil & gas - especially Marvel Mystery Oil.
