Yeah, go for it since you've already tackled the breather box. I would.

One other option to try and clean your engine innards would be to run some some Auto-RX through it a couple of times. Stuff isn't cheap, but it does work. Did a nice job cleaning the engine on my 95 855. 255k miles and I have never had to pull the breather box on that car!
