Location/Replacement of the Ignition Reference Sensor 700 1989

Hello Val:

You don't say which model you have-- if it is a 760GLE with the v6 then the ignition reference sensor is on the top of the bellhousing just beneath the throttle body. That one isn't too bad to get at...

If you have a 740/760 with the 4 cylinder, then the ignition reference is the Hall Effect sensor in the distributor. That one sounds like a more involved replacement.

Post again with more information about your vehicle and I am sure you will get the info you need!

Good luck!
