Labor is nothing but 2 minutes to replace. These 561 (the original in '89) or better, 951 (90-93) ECUs enjoy a lively trade on Ebay at about $100, guaranteed to work. $880 is definitely a suckers special. Does your mechanic aspire to motorboats or golfing vacations, perhaps? If I did not have two cars that use them, I would sell you a spare. But you have to be a gambler to have an 89-93 240 or non-turbo 740 and not own a spare ECU of this type. Try Brian Leppin for a top notch reliable guy. He is in the Brickboard shops section and will get you a unit promptly. You can easily swap oit yourself.
