Youre freind is right. When I replaced the timming belt on my car I had to remove the crankshaft pully in order to reaplace the belt. On the one hand you at least know that they replaced the belt where as on the other hand it showed thier incompetance as to the fact that they could not put the four bolts that hold the pully on back in. Give them hell from me.
