I had same problem with the cold start valve thermal timer. In addition to replacing the timer my cold start valve was plugged. Also there was a short in the wiring to the engine temp sensor, just below thermostat, that made the control box respond as if the engine was hot all the time creating rough cold running. My aux air valve was also a problem but I got by using WD40 in it with engine running sucking it through to clean and lubricate. Hope this helps!
