I think it's a metric thread but I have no idea which.

Regardless, sooner or later you'll find the one. Never open that stupid plug again; they ALL strip out. Instead flush the ATF with procedures that I'm guessing are outlined in the 700/900 FAQ. It is simple, easy, and gets rid of all the fluid.

I never drain any trans pan on an AW70/71 exactly for that reason. If I don't screw it up myself, chances are it was already screwed up by the person before me.
