A three year old seal could be waiting to leak anyway. Then some fresh coolant cleans out a little stuff that is in the way and all of a sudden it is dripping.
The drama queens really love Dexcool. The amount of time re-hashing what a bad product it is has fallen on deaf ears here. I honestly see little if any proof that it does any harm, with the exception of finding leaks. And I'm of the opinion that such leaks would have existed in the first place.
All the time, people flush their cooling system, or change their water pump and put in new yellow coolant. Then, when a leak mysteriously appears, it is a faulty part, or something that was waiting to happen anyway. When it happens with Dexcool, it's the coolant. We should have someone do an exposé about this horrible product.
