Hello All,
I have a 1991 Volvo 740 Turbo with automatic transmission.
What kind of wheel alignment is needed and/or called for this car?
I recently got this a 4 wheel alignment at NTB. They used a good Hunter alignment machine. However, the only thing they adjusted for, and the only thing that is adjustable based on Haynes and Chilton, is the toe. No camber or caster adjustment can be done. Please also note that on the front wheels can be adjusted for toe. Nothing can be adjusted for the back wheels.
Hince my question. If the front toe is the only thing that is adjustable, then all I am getting is a front wheel alignment not a 4 wheel alignment. I talk to the manager and he said that per his manual, this car calls for a 4 wheel alignment even though the only thing that is adjustable on this car is the front toe.
I called a local Volvo dealer and they also stated that a 4 wheel alignment is called for this car even though the only thing that is adjustable is the front toe.
What up with this? What did you all pay for and what did you get out of it?
PS. Front driver toe was off and corrected. There was no uneven tire wear before or after the alignment. I got the alignment because I replace the ball joints and out tie rods.
