I did the voltage/ohm checks on the AMM and they are all good per the Haynes book. THe only difference with AMM connector off is that the engine stalls if I accelerate it quickly. If I throttle up slow it will run as high an RPM as I want it to. It still runs rich even with the AMM out of the loop.
I took the cover off the ECU and didn't see anything that looked fried. Cleaned the connector and put it back together. No fix.
Also played with the mixture adjustment a bit on the AMM. Couldn't make a difference in the way it runs. Also hooked a volt meter to O2 sensor while playing with mixture and could't get it to go lower than .9 V. It stays between .9 and .95 throughout the throttle range. According to the book this means extremely rich running. .1 V is lean.
I guess it could be the AMM but problem stays with it out of the loop.
