The auto's are 4.3:1 vs. the manuals at 4.56:1. Not enough of a difference to matter in my opinion. It would make such a car a little more relaxed cruiser. I don't recall my swapped '72 being any slower off the line than my always-a-manual '71 is. Of course if you could find an LSD that would make the swap worthwhile...
