I'd pull the hood pad from a 700 series- they have a heavy duty black material that looks like rubberized layered fabric- I'm not really sure what it is, mine's kind of filthy! Anyway looks to be easy enough to pull off and then you'll have to figure out how to clip it up there. Ought to be just about the right size. The 700's pad always seem to hang down anyway- mine drags on the throttle pulley a bit since it sags right there.
