I have Ron's mechanical switch on my PV, but I have converted it to a swing-type pedal. There's no way I can see to adapt it to the stock PV setup without stepping on it, or mounting it outdoors.

As a side note, rft1: does your horn still work? They're on the same fuse...if you've lost your brake lights before and they came back, could be worth checking.
