Yes, I know all that George. You said it clearly. You cannot intermix steel and fiber sear sets.

Even though you only need replace the fiber gear, every time I replaced one, it came in a "kit," which included the crank gear and little things like the brass thrust washer, new bolts, and a timing cover gasket. As a result, I have a half dozen used crank gears kicking around somewhere.
