fan resistor question 87 245.

hello . looking through the archives and my haynes manual for info on the a.c.fan switch. went to the junkyard today.pulled a fan switch, is the resistor the white connector that hooks th the fan switch? from there the wires go into the fan housing. my fan works on speed 3 and 4 only.not sure what to do next?it is a 1987 245. i did not try to install the switch yet but everything i read points to the resistor. thank you for any help.
