fan resistor question 87 245.

hi again been doing some reading guys. one post in the archives says he changed the fan from only the right side under the glovebox? and i read dons fix on i believe a 122. the quick fix. i guess if there was a easy way someone would have already posted it. next question i only have the haynes manual. i read the bentleys has step by step instructions should i buy this first.and which brand fan and resestor is recomended. also is this 8 hr job.
