distributor 140-160 1971

I am sure you know that the stock B20B distributor (and the d-jet ones too)have a vacuum retard module on them. I do not know of any factory distributors, other than the early B18's, that had an advance module. I am sure an advance one could be fitted, with some work, to the stock distributor.
I overhaul later distributors and remove the module altogether, and cover the hole with an aluminum plate. I also weld the breaker plate assembly together to give a more stable point gap. The distributor is then centrifugal advance only. With good gas, the initial timing can be set up to 13-15 degrees BTDC.
Just disconnecting the retard unit gives a big increase in performance, albeit at the cost of increased Nox.
