I read every reply...
There should be a plastic weather seal under the dist cap. It has a lug so it fits one way. The cap has a lug and so it seats one way. A tipped cap shows the plastic seal is not seating.
I would get the old rotor off even if I had to break it. Don't beat, pull or pound it, but rather crush it with large channel locks. A little tapping to it might be ok so long as you take your time. Be sure the new one is correct first as best you can.
At the dist check the 3 wires closely right where they enter the dist for bare wire, cracks and or breaks, and be sure these were not crushed. These wires are a soft wire as they must move with the breaker plate, and are easily damaged.
Probably the plug wires are trash, and probably the inside wire part which is fragile is broken. This is a carbon wire filimant. There are plug wire pulling pliers which help this job along... Give you a proper grip, so you don't have to pull the wire.
I am not sure about the air hoses, so I'll pass on that.
As for the yellow wire what type of end does it have, or is the end gone? Mac
