Did tune up myself; now I have problems and need help. 200 1983

I have wondered that myself, because the stiff hose certainly makes it a hassle. It should be an easy job to open up the filter box, but those damn plastic hoses mean you practically have to loosen up everything all the way back to the throttle body to create enough space to take the air filter out. I don't see any reason why the right size diameter flexible hose wouldn't work, as long as it were upstream of the AMM.
