I have 2 boys and the Volvo's served us well untill they got bigger.
I would say keep the Volvo's until the kids get too big for to be comfortable.
That should be at leat anoter 6 to 8 years in your case.
When my kids got to be about 11-12 years old the long trips began to be a real pain. At a that point we got a full size van- also because my wife started a daycare. Hate the gas mileage but love the room.
One thing of note; After seeing the results of a SUV rear ending a 745 I would not put kids in the 3rd seat nowdays. The SUV's bumper hit right at the 745's
tailights and pushed the rear all the way up to the middle seat. Luckily no kids were in the back. I guess the 745 is not designed to be hit there.
