I've had to turn down a few flats on my HS6s to avoid a surging type of behavior with my B20. Smoothed it right out but it will probably end up
being too rich once the weather gets above the 20's.

Perhaps your backfiring is a more severe case of surging.

Annapolis Valley? Are you in N.S.? We have a summer place on the shore
between Bridgetown and Annaplois.
