L/F Ball Joint Replacement - My experience (LONG) 200 1987

Here's the trick to separating the ball joint from the plate. Remove the nut, and then open your vise to allow the ball joint to drop through, but the jaws support the plate. Drive down on the stud one big hit, and its out. This is assuming you have a four inch wide vise, anything less and you can't work on cars. A five inch is great.
