There's always the filter in the fuel pump itself, but i've never heard of any filter in the Carburators... Also, if the car has sat before, there should be junk/rust in the fuel system that you will definitely want to filter out. For example, i had to change my fuel filter(between the pump and the carb.) more than 10 times before they stopped collecting lots of junk(mostly rust) in them. And the top of the fuel pump needed to be cleaned every other time i changed filters. FWIW,
