I've quickly made the sums, all in metric (sorry). If you get 15L/100km (it is supposed to be around 11), you get about 333km out of 50L of fuel. Driving at 120km/h, you are moving at 33m/s and use about 5ml/s of fuel. So the fuel pump will be averaging 5ml/s (1 teaspoon per second). Obviously we are interested in revs not speed, but this is just for indication.
Yea, I like to drive hard too. Unfortunately the speed limit here is 100km/h, but then again I've got an automatic which you do not want to drive at 120km/h!
By the way, I've discovered that one of the reasons for having vacuum retard timing is to smooth out the power curve and gear change on older design automatic transmissions. It's not just for emissions control. So I guess I'll keep my timing stock...
