prepump installation 200 1982

Be very careful taking the hoses off the sender pipes, which are probably very fragile by now.

For the Output (larger) hose, I use a small, fine-toothed hacksaw on the hose clamp, then work the hose free by prying with a small screwdriver.

For the Return line (rubber sleeve over thermoplastic line) I saw the line off at the end of the "barb" fitting.

I replace the Return by cutting the outer rubber back about 2" to expose the plastic line, then reconnect it with a short splice of 5/16" ID Fuel Injection rated hose and FI hose clamps.

The return pressure is very low, and this has worked for me several times with no problems.

I've always reused the bung nut and seal ring with no problems.
